What you’ll do

This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.

• Ensure that all money is accounted for. The need to balance tills on a daily basis.
• Ensure the checkouts are manned efficiently
• Ensure all goods are rung up correctly
• Accurately and securely process and record voids & refunds
• Creating rosters for cashiers
• Plan and manage lunch and tea breaks for cashiers
• Oversee cash handling at the checkouts
• Ensure that cashiers adhere to operating procedures
• Assist customers with queries
• Maintain clean and hygienic checkouts
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
• Efficiently managing tasks, schedules, and resources to optimize checkout operations and create an orderly work environment
• Demonstrating proficiency in working with numbers, calculating totals, providing accurate change, and reconciling cash balances
• Familiarity with using point-of-sale systems and equipment to process transactions, apply discounts, and manage various payment methods.
• Possessing a good understanding of different fruits and vegetables, their varieties, seasonal availability, and handling considerations to assist customers accurately.
• Approaching tasks and interactions with a positive attitude
• Going above and beyond to provide excellent service to customers
