Requirements
- Relevant three-year IT tertiary qualification
- Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years’ relevant experience within IT
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or other cloud offerings
- Experience in Microsoft Azure Landing Zone design and implementation will be beneficial
- Exposure to Kubernetes or other cloud containerisation technologies is beneficial
- Requires specialised knowledge on the Opensource operating systems (SLES, REDHat)
- Knowledge of Virtualisation technologies would be advantageous
- A valid Code B driver’s licence.
Key Performance Areas
- Responsible for the maintenance of the City’s Server environment which host business critical systems
- Give effect to short- and long-term initiatives, projects, systems and policies in the area of system performance monitoring and error event alerting
- Administration of complex correspondence pertaining to systems performance, event logging and formulating recommendations for line management consideration
- Administer the IT system required to monitor the health status of the distributed application systems environment
- Ensure the uptime of systems, thereby facilitating service delivery of the City’s ICT systems
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and effective use of the IS& T Department’s/Branch’s services and resources
- Maintain effective communication with in/external stakeholders relating to system performance monitoring and optimisation
- To assist with changes implemented within the server environment
