What will you do?
- The successful candidate will act as a Group Financial Manager: Accounting Specialist & Compliance in the SanlamAllianz Group Finance Team and will report to the Finance Head: Statutory Reporting & Consolidation.

Responsibilities will include, amongst others, the following:
Internal Control & Compliance:
- Design, implementation and monitoring compliance of group accounting and internal control policies
- Strengthen the internal control environment to ensure effective controls and procedures are in place at the Group level, cluster level and operating entity level
- Maintaining the risk and control matrix of the Group & preparing quarterly internal control reports to Exco
- Support the implementation and maintenance of controls in the financial consolidation system
- Focus on process improvements to drive automation and new ways of working
- Primary liaison with internal audit and manage interactions with internal and external auditors
- Involvement and support for specific improvement projects to enhance the financial close process and implement best practices across the Group
Technical Accounting:
- Provide technical accounting support for complex mergers & acquisitions transactions throughout the Group, including adhoc technical accounting assessments
- Provide IFRS training to the Group and its subsidiaries
- Analysis and review of multiple foreign subsidiary management accounts and financial statements
- Compilation of financial statements in terms of IFRS and preparation of note disclosures for year-end close process
Stakeholder engagement and Teaming:
- Co-ordination, planning & communication with internal and external stakeholders in respect of reporting requirements and processes
- Responsible for regulatory reporting to stakeholders (including SARB)
- Providing accounting support to the tax team (including Pillar II and Country by Country (CbC) reporting)
- Providing accounting support to the actuarial and valuations team
- Lead and contribute to a high-performing accounting team
Qualification and Experience
- Qualified CA(SA) or equivalent
- 4-6 years post qualification experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with implementing and monitoring of internal controls
- Good working technical knowledge of IFRS principles and standards and group consolidations (IFRS17 experience/basic understanding is an added advantage)
- Experience in the emerging markets environment will be an advantage
- Oracle HFM experience will be an added advantage
- OneStream experience will be an added advantage
- Process management skills (able to review existing processes and procedures, making recommendations for rationalisation/improvement, and implement them operationally)
- Ability to speak French will be advantageous
