The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is a metropolitan municipality that forms the local government of the East Rand region of Gauteng, South Africa.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in ICT or relevant equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
  • Cyber Security Certification
  • 3 – 5 years’ ICT experience
  • A valid driver’s license

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement information technology security requirements
  • Input and advise on strategic capability and leadership to ensure that organisational demands are met in the short, medium and long term
  • Implement security requirements to ensure that applications and data are secured against security threats
  • Design and build detailed security solutions to ensure that the ICT applications are secured and data is protected against the latest security threats
  • Perform security testing to ensure that security implementations are successful and to produce an audit trail of security activities
  • Research and communicate on latest security trends to inform and ensure that the applications and data are protected optimally against threats
  • Execute disaster recovery activities to ensure the least possible impact on business in case of a disaster
  • Ensure governance and risk management to identify and manage governance and risk expose liability and to enable the achievement of subject matter standards regarding governance, risk and compliance
  • Perform financial processes to ensure effective financial control and financial compliance
  • Apply customer service orientation to meet customer expectations.
