The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality (also known as the City of Tshwane) is the metropolitan municipality that forms the local government of northern Gauteng Province, South Africa. The Metropolitan area is centred on the city of Pretoria with surrounding towns and localities included into the local government area.
Job Purpose
- To execute projects (operations) in an effective way by keeping to the set targets of time, cost, resources and standards of each project and adhering to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993) (this post only executes tasks on the non-energised electrical distribution network)
Application Requirements:
- Grade 10
- Relevant experience in local authority electrical networks
- Linesman course and Cable course
- A valid Code C1 driving licence and a valid PrDP
- Physical fitness and health
- Willingness and ability to work shifts
- Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost

Primary Functions :
- Ensure the optimal use of resources (vehicles, tools, equipment and material) to ensure cost-effectiveness and to reach set target dates of projects
- Assist the supervisor with constructing the electrical network to ensure effective service delivery
- Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993
